Gadget of the Day – Asus Eee PC 1000

The Eee PC 1000 is finally on sale. It's the bigger brother of the Eee PC 901, with a 10in screen and the new Intel Atom processor.

This one's got stamina, with a battery life of up to 7.5 hours. All the wireless boxes are ticked with Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi built in.

The choices facing you are: black or white, and 1000 or 1000H. The 1000 comes with Linux and a shock-proof 40GB solid state hard drive, plus 20GB of free online storage, while the cheaper 1000H comes with Windows XP and a traditional 80GB hard drive. Take your pick.
