The 1.3kg, 10.2in lappie, dubbed the webbook, will come chocked with Linux or XP, three USB ports, a 1.6Ghz processor, Wi–Fi, 512MB of RAM and extra card support for boosting the hard drive.

Rather than offering punters the chance to just front up the cash, Carphone will be offering it free–on–contract. They’re keeping schtum about what this means, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.

They’ve also said they’ll be offering a slew of new Elonex webbooks in the coming months. So keep ‘em peeled for even more UMPCs right here on Stuff.tv
