Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 grabs all-format Christmas number one

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has won over a fair few of us here at Stuff Towers, and it seems its done the same with you lot, as it has grabbed this year's all-format Christmas number one spot.

This week is its sixth week atop the all-format charts, showing that a little bit of controversy never does a game any harm – not to mention of course, some cracking gameplay.

That said, this year's Christmas top 10 was overrun with games for Nintendo's Wii, with the console taking six of the spots up for grabs.

These games included Nintendo's very own Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart, as well as Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and Ubisoft's Just Dance.

Fifa 10 also made a valiant effort over the past week, jumping from 5th place to 2nd thanks to Christmas sales, while Assassin's Creed 2 did less well, dropping to the 5th spot from 3rd.
