Asus readying 30GB Eee PC

18 Jul 2008

Eee PCWe’re finding it tough to keep up with all the Eee PCs Asus is insisting on foisting on us. With the 900, 901, 904HD and 1000 series all set to go, now, according to Electronista, they’re readying yet another model, the Eee PC 900 30G.

As you’ve probably intuited already, this new dinky beast will come with a 30GB SSD. Certainly no bad thing if you’ve already planned how to fill the measly 12GB of the XP edition with questionable files and thirty minute–long Yes tracks.

However, there is a catch. This is the 900 rather than the 901, so you won’t find an Intel Atom under the hood. Still, that means it’ll probably cost less. Plans are afoot to drop white and black Linux models, with a black–only XP version to follow.

Is Asus taking it too far? 67 per cent of you have already told us you want more, so clearly not.
