Apple Tablet specs and picture outed by Silicon Valley tech heads
Last night a publisher decided to spill the beans on the forthcoming Apple Tablet, and now two big names on the Silicon Valley tech scene have decided to go public with specs for the device, and even a picture as well.
Giving the most information is Weblogs founder Jason Calacanis, who claims to have all the deets on the Tablet after beta testing it for two weeks.
Deciding his NDA was "basically over" he spilled details on his Twitter account, stating the best part about it was the HDTV tuner and the built-in PVR for recording shows on the go.
He also praises its ability for reading newspapers on, and for its stable video conferencing.
Other specs he outs include the fact it'll run a iPhone-like OS with the ability of multitasking apps, two cameras (one facing forwards, the other backwards), thumbpads on either side of the screen for "mouse gestures", an OLED screen and a solar panel on the back for on-the-go charging, although he admits that is "more of a gimmick".
He describes games on the Tablet as having "Nintendo-Wii level innovation", although admits that this sucks the battery life down to 2-3 hours when playing over Wifi. In ereader mode, we can apparently expect a much longer running time.
Price-wise, he says it'll be $599, $699 and $799 depending on "size and memory in Apple tablet". Does this mean there will be different screen sizes after all?
Finally, Calacanis finishes his mini unveil by stating that he is not joking, that the device is the "best gadget ever" and has not been over-hyped, and even spills the intricate details that Farmville creator Mark Pincus will be on stage with Steve Jobs tonight, showing off a Tablet-specific version of the game. Wowsers.
And in case you needed any more convincing, backing up his claims is UStream.tv's Matt Schlict, who claims to have video conferenced with Calacanis.
Interestingly, he claims that the Tablet won't go on sale directly after the conference like we've seen many times before with Apple launches, but did furnish us with this cheeky snap for an idea of what we have to look forward to.
Wow, it certainly seems very convincing – and they'd both lose a lot of credibility if they were telling us fibs. Is this what we have to look forward to this evening?

Considering the fact that Jason is closely connected with Michael Arrington, there's about a snowflakes chance in hell that Apple would provide him, or anyone else, with a demo model.
This is Jason toying with people's naivety. Just a play on how riled up bloggers get with even the smallest bit of information on an Apple product.
He's an influential figure, so I wouldn't be surprised if thousands of people fall for this.
Me personally, I'm very excited to see what's officially announced.

Not a chance that any of this is legit. It may happen but its more what he would like than anything else. Everything mentioned in the article above is exactly what was discussed in the latest edition of TWIT (This week in Tech). So this is more like a wish list than anything else.
JC is not afriad of being sued, but only by the smaller companies that he goes after when theyre "Bullying" as he puts it. I very much doubt that he would be wanting to take on the legal eagles at Apple by breaching an NDA.
