Apple iPad on sale 3 April in the US

The iPad will go on sale 3 April in the US, according to those hype monsters at Apple.
The all-singing, all-dancing 3G iPads will be available later on in April.
Pre-orders for both models can be made from 12 March on the Apple Store, with prices starting at $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB and $699 for 64GB. The models packing 3G will cost $629, $729 and $829 respectively.
The iBooks app and iBookstore will also be available from 3 April.
No firm news yet on availability for the rest of the world, but we're waiting on the edge of our metaphorical seats. Expecting late April for the non-3Ger.

I've met some pretty die-hard Apple fans that are avoiding the iPad and even they are refering it to a giant iTouch.
I really have no idea what niche Apple are aiming for but i've a feeling they have missed it by a wide mark.

Hillrhys, the blogger you linked flamed the iPad then said he'd by one if he had the money. Do you feel the same?
