Acer planning all–in–one Eee Top rival for 2009
Having started a netbook war which has become frankly tiring, it looks as if Asus's new Eee Top desktop is set to spark something similar, with rivals Acer said to be plotting their own 'net top' for release next tear.
According to DigiTimes, the people behind the dirt–cheap and much–loved Acer Aspire One are plotting a 'low–power' machine that won't come with the now standard Intel Atom chip. Apparently this is all down to supply, but does mean that the price could be significantly lower too.
Acer isn't expected to start laying down any firm plans until December at the earliest, so actual specs remain scarcer than a consistent performance by Manchester City. That said, word is it'll be aimed at punters who want to connect it up to their TV.
