Upgraded MacBook Air to hit in May?

27 Apr 2011

You can usually spot an Apple MacBook update from several paces. The timing is reasonably predictable, confirmed by low stock near the announcement and – in case you haven’t noticed – people on the internet become quite excited. A refresh, on the other hand, is a more stealthy operation – no redesigns or fancy announcements, just a Post-It note where the Apple Store normally lives, followed by a spec jump. The rumour buzzing around MacBookville at present suggests the superthin MacBook Air may be adding Sandy Bridge i5 silicon and Thunderbolt connectivity in late May or early June, despite only launching last October. We live in hope.
