ViewSonic officially unveils ViewPad 10pro
ViewSonic hasn't done too well in the tablet battle so far, but it's hoping to turn a few heads with its latest tablety treat, the ViewPad 10pro.
In an attempt to compete with the slew of tempting tabs on the market, it has crammed an Android 2.3/Windows dual OS into the ViewPad 10pro's slim 10.1in frame. Arguably, that's the best of both worlds in one device but that all depends how you feel about Windows in tablet form. With your choice of either Windows 7 Professional or Home Premium, the ViewPad could be ideal for knuckling down to work via Windows and hitting up Android to fire up a quick tinker with Apparatus.
It's of the first tablets powered by Intel's 1.5GHz Atom Z670 processor, designed to minimise power consumption and keep you going for up to eight hours. Its double-faced OS will be joined by full HD 1080p video playback, 2GB of built-in memory (expandable to 32GB via microSD), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP front-facing cam and an HDMI port for big screen HD viewing.
Available next month in two SSD flavours, 32GB Windows 7 Professional or 16GB Windows Home Premium, for US$699 and US$599 respectively. Hopefully UK pricing and availability will be revealed closer to its official launch.
