Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 available today

04 Aug 2011

It’s been a long time coming… first there was the February launch, followed by the hands-on, the review, the versus and the pre-ordering. There was even a surprisingly familiar looking Smart Case (since pulled).

Finally, today everyone can get their hands on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 and see for themselves what all the fuss was about. Was it worth waiting for? Admittedly, the 10in tablet is late to the party, but with Honeycomb 3.1 buzzing along on a 1GHz dual-core engine (Tegra 2) – all tucked within a slender 8.6mm-thin frame – it certainly gives Apple’s market leading iPad 2 a run for its money.

Talking of money, the Wi-Fi version is out today at Dixons or Currys for £400 (16GB), £480 (32GB) or £560 (64GB), while the 3G version will arrive later this month from £500.
