Huawei Ascend P1 S – screen

Flip Huawei’s super slim phone over and you’re met by the 4.3in AMOLED display. With a resolution of 960x540, our first impression suggests it’s not the sharpest we’ve seen (nor, in fact, the brightest) but it’s certainly no slouch. And, to be fair, a press conference isn’t the place to make finite judgements – we’ll be back with a full review for that.

Huawei Ascend P1 S – Ice Cream Sandwich

2012 is the year of Ice Cream Sandwich, or Android 4.0. And the Ascend P1 S is rocking it from the off. A quick bustle around the operating system suggests the Ascend is more than capable of skimming around without a hint of lag, and why would it? There’s a combination of powerful processing, 1GB RAM and dedicated graphics handling to make sure it’s up to the job.
