After four days traipsing the floors of CES during the day and the Las Vegas Strip by night my legs are starting to feel the strain. I've noticed the odd Segway scooting about the Las Vegas Convention Centre, but on my way out of the show today I was overtaken by a bloke who appeared to be miraculously gliding across the floor at some rate of knots.
In actual fact he was wearing iShoes, the industrial-looking footwear at the top of this post. They look like the kind of thing that can only result in broken bones and a smashed face, and with a top speed of just over 13mph I reckon there's plenty of opportunity for injury. They're completely battery powered and according to the guys on the stand have a range of about three miles before you're out of juice. Check out the iShoes website for pics and a video of them in action and try telling me you don't want some.
Considering i've given up on my dream of ever owning a Back To The Future-style hover board, I think i'll just have to settle for some iShoes to save my legs at CES 2009. Anyone got $600?
