Stuff has just returned from a pre-press conference trek around CES’s premium preview event Unveiled – and tucked away between exciting offerings from Lenovo and Asus, we’ve come face to face with some of Wowwee’s robotech for 2009.There are, of course, new walking, talking, dancing robots but we were rather taken by the company’s attempt at a Spykee-style spycam ‘bot. Unlike Spykee, the Spyball comes, surprisingly, in a ball – very sci-fi. It’s Wi-Fi enabled, meaning you can take control from your laptop or phone and roll around the house spying on the dog.But 2009 isn’t all about robots for Wowwee. This year sees the company branching out into the world of pocket-sized Pico projectors with a trio of telly-chucking boxes. Full details are yet to be confirmed but the Cinemin Stick is a standard Pico projecter with a generous ‘4 or 5GB’ onboard, while the Cinemin Swivel is identical but for a 90º swivelling lens. Completing the threesome is the alarm clock-sized Cinemin Station – an iPod dock with projector built-in. Expect the whole Wowwee troupe to hit shelves by the end of the year and keep your browser locked to Stuff.tv for some hands-on vids before the week is out.
