Canon 5D Mark III announcement coming in March?

Canon looking to put space between the Nikon D800 launch and its next-gen EOS

Canon is set to announce the EOS 5D Mark III, its long-awaited replacement for the 5D Mark II, in March, according to “consistent mentions” cited by Canon Rumors.

The launch will take place following the CP+ show in Japan – Canon’s timing its announcement to avoid clashing with the February announcement of the Nikon D800, according to the site.

While the Nikon D800 is predicted to arrive packing a 36MP sensor, the 5D Mark III is expected to feature a 21MP or 22MP CMOS sensor along with a DIGIC 5 processor, 19 AF points, GPS capability and 5fps continuous shooting.
