Toshiba drops dirt cheap H10 HD camcorder
Dirt-cheap HD camcorders are the ’it’ gadget this summer. And Toshiba has just weighed in with its suitably priced and heavily specced cammie, the Camileo H10.
Clocking in at a mere £179.99, the new wee beast will record your pics in eye–stroking 720p, stashing up to four hours of top quality shots on the 8GB SD cards it supports. That’s on top of the 64MB of on–board space you get for your cash.
All video is encoded in MPEG4, so you’ll have no trouble loading it up onto whatever PC you’ve got to hand and get down to some home video editing in no time.
On top of all that, you’ll find a 10MP sensor, a 2.7in display for checking out your work as you go and night mode for shooting in dingy clubs and seedy alleys. If you’re making a ‘gritty’ documentary, that is.
It’s due to drop at the end of July, which by our reckoning is right about now.

It looks like its a rebadged Digilife DDV-Z530, available via ebay for £130 (including free 8gb SD card). The DDV-Z530 is exactly the same except has a 5MP sensor, so I wonder whether this Toshiba has a real 10MP or just a 5PM interpolated to 10.
