My Gadget Life – Helena Christensen

I’ve been serious about photography since I was 18
I was travelling around Europe, modelling, and started taking photographs. The modelling and photography became parallel.
I don’t shoot just anything
I take pictures of lots of different things. I wouldn’t want to specialise because I don’t want to narrow my shooting down to just one subject.
I like to take photos of people
I get asked to take lots of portraits. It’s amazing to share that moment ?in life with that person; the fact that they might not have known me five minutes before, but now I’m a part of their life and perhaps documenting them growing up. I love that.
I’m equally comfortable shooting film or digital…
When I’m shooting, I’ll carry a film camera – a big Pentax 67 medium-format camera – and my Canon EOS 450D digital camera. Digital is way more convenient and you can shoot away like a maniac without worrying about changing film or the cost. But I feel blessed to be living in a time where I can shoot both.
