Canon's capacious new 'corders get more
Canon's AVCHD cams have been scrapping it out with Sony and Panasonic's all year. Now it's brought in reinforcements in the shape of two updated models, the HF11 and HG21.
Replacing the battle weary HF10 and HG10 they come loaded with new features and far more room for all that storage hungry, 1080i footage.
The HF11 sees its super-stable flash storage doubled from 16GB to 32GB. The HG21, which relies on a traditional hard drive, does even better. It sees its platter trebled from a snigger-inducing 40GB to a Sony HDR-SR12E-matching 120GB.
Like the HF11, the HG21 can now also shoot to SD card should hard drive space ever run low. Otherwise the body shapes, 12x optical zooms and 2.7in LCDs are copied over directly from the originals.
They're due to hit Japan next month - no word on when they'll be heading here though so Sony can rest easy for a little while longer.
