Bing for Windows Phone 7 adding new features

Microsoft’s mobile search engine is growing up and learning some new tricks

The latest Windows Phone Dev Podcast has some juicy morsels of information for all Windows Phone 7 users. A plethora of handy features will be incorporated in to Bing in the near future, including a Shazam-like music recognition ability with Zune store compatibility, Bing Vision for barcode scanning and optical character recognition, and support for augmented reality applications. Bing Maps will get turn-by-turn voice navigation and a nifty voice-to-text app should come in useful for those hands-free moments. A native podcast player nicely rounds off the feature list and we look forward to prodding and swiping our way around the new features when they drop in the near future.
