Asus teams up with Garmin for nuvifone

We’ve been gagging to get hold of the multimedia monster that is the Garmin nuvifone since we first clamped eyes on it in January. And today more

And today more news has emerged about the satnav giant’s cell. Asus, the people behind the best–selling Eee PC, are apparently helping Garmin build the phone, apparently so they get the mobile tech spot on.

However, all this collaboration comes at a price, with the release date slipping to Q4. That means we can expect it any time from October.

Pictures have also surfaced of a white model, to compliment the black version already doing the rounds. Hmm, can you think of another recently outed phone with a similar colour scheme?

The nuviphone will definitely shake things up when it does eventually arrive. There’s on–board GPS, a 3.5in screen, HSDPA, as well as a camera, although we know nowt about how many megapixels you’ll find round the back.

So what do you reckon? Can the nuvifone bring the pain to Apple? Let us know in the comments section.
