Asus plotting Android phone

With the G1 hitting shops tomorrow and a disposable Android blower bering shown off at CES 2009, Asus looks like it's going to be the next big player

According to DigiTimes, the Eee PC maker is looking into an Android phone, with plans to release it in the first half of next year. Sadly, details are more scarce than common sense over the whole Russell Brand and Andrew Sachs shenanigans, but obviously talk has already turned to the possibility of EeePhone.

That would certainly tickle our fancy and if Asus could offer it in the same cheap–as–chips price bracket as their award–winning Eee PC then we'd definitely snap one up.

We're keeping an eye out for any more hot news on this, but while you hang on, make sure you take a look at out hands–on video of the Android–toting T–Mobile G1.
