Now that Ice Cream Sandwich has been let out the box and is both smartphone and tablet friendly, the race to be the first tablet carrier is on.
While initial speculation pointed to the Motorola Xoom – and potentially the Xoom 2, which we were hoping would be announced today – those intrepid web explorers over at Pocket Lint have had exclusive confirmation directly from Asus that its first tablet outing will be with Asus' Eee Pad Transformer and the Transformer 2, which has already been doing the web rounds in a teaser video.
Despite the official seal of confirmation, Asus was unable to comment on when Android 4.0 is likely to arrive on its transforming tablet. But this tasty news morsel means Asus is the first to confirm Google's new OS will be used on tablets.
