Assassin’s Creed III coming to Wii U

The next Assassin's Creed game will be the first major release on a Nintendo system, Ubisoft confirms

Jumpy-stabby stealth game Assassin’s Creed III will be making its way to Nintendo’s Wii U, developer Ubisoft has confirmed.

It’ll be the first major Assassin’s Creed game on a Nintendo home console, though handheld-only releases like Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles have been released on the Nintendo DS.

Assassin’s Creed III will also be released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 31st – though there’s no release date revealed as yet for the Wii U version. Could Ninty’s new console be coming out in time for a same-day release? We can but hope.

Assassin’s Creed III relocates the series to the American Revolution, with the player taking control of Native American assassin Ratohnaké. Take a look at the Last of the Mohicans-esque trailer here.
