Sources have revealed to Eurogamer that the next version of Microsoft's Kinect device will be accurate enough to lip read.

Improved motion sensing and voice recognition will also enable the Kinect 2 to determine if you're angry or sad, as well as what direction you are facing.

Unsurprisingly the higher resolution Kinect 2 is expected to work with the next generation Xbox console – imaginatively dubbed the Xbox 720 – which is tipped to rear its head at CES in January.
