Pinterest apps hit iPad and Android

Photo-sharing service finally lands on Android – plus the iPhone app gets an update

Photo-sharing service Pinterest has launched new Android and iPad apps, as well as updating its iPhone offering.

The Android app has been one of the most requested updates to the service, said Chief Executive Ben Silbermann, speaking at the company’s first official press briefing in San Francisco.

The new iPad app lets you swipe to resume browsing after viewing a board, and includes an embedded browser so you can check out what your fellow pinners are sharing.

The iPhone app hasn’t been left out of the pinning party either – it’s been updated with a new two-column layout.
