Google Maps goes messing about on the river

Summer's the perfect time to go messing about on the river – and Google Maps wants to encourage us to use our waterways.
The big G is palling up with the Canal and River Trust to map waterways in England and Wales. Later this year – hopefully before the end of summer – Google Maps will add 2000 miles of bridges, locks and canal and river paths to its journey planner, letting you plot routes that wander the stream with waters of green.
As long as you don't get the walking and the driving journey planner mixed up, it sounds like a great idea.
