Adobe drops Flash from Google Play store

If your Android phone or tablet doesn’t already have Flash, it never will. That’s the (somewhat sad) result of Adobe pulling its software from Android’s Google Play app store.
Adobe has realised that its future doesn’t lie on mobile, where videos and animations now seem to be the domain of HTML5. This, of course, all started when Steve Jobs ditched Flash on iOS, accusing it of draining mobile batteries and being full of security holes.
Adobe will continue to provide security updates for the Android edition of Flash, so if you have it on your smartphone or tablet you might want to keep it around. Y’know, just in case.
