Best space games – The Kristal (1989, Amiga)

The Kristal started out as a pitch for a musical stage show, backed by a demo cassette starring Elaine Paige and Patrick Moore. That never came off, but its video game form did, eventually.

As a game it doesn't hold up today, but The Kristal still has merit as a warning against the dangers of exposure to tetrachlorothylene – the creators worked above a dry cleaners in Muswell Hill in the late '80s.
