Has production started on the Apple iTV?

Apple iTV

It’s long been rumoured that Apple is working away on its own HDTV – check out our iTV rumour round-up for the latest rumours – and now the company may have started production on the device.

Jeffries & Co. analyst Peter Misek told Business Insider that components for the device have started to ship out to Apple’s partners in the Far East. So far, he claims that they’re only in small quantities (perhaps for production testing purposes), but he expects things to ramp up soon and large scale production to begin in May or June this year.

If his predictions are believed, we can expect to have Apple's iTV gracing our living rooms in winter this year – so that's the begging letter to Santa sorted, then.

Of course, all this is just rumour, albeit from a person who spends his working life trying to figure out what companies like Apple are up to. So take it with a pinch of salt – but let yourself get a wee bit excited too.
