The launch of the iPhone 4S in China has got off to a bit of a rocky start after the Apple store in Beijing failed to open its doors to the salivating crowd waiting outside.

It's never a good idea to keep an Apple fan from their shiny iThing for too long and tempers flared after people who had been waiting all night for the shiny gadget were met with a closed store.

Eggs were thrown and the resulting commotion caused Apple to halt iPhone sales in all of its retail stores in Beijing and Shanghai, for the time being.
