New iTunes for Mac and PC revealed

Apple iTunes

Apple has pulled the wrappings off a new version of iTunes for Mac and PC, which brings iCloud integration to the forefront. Purchase a song, TV show or movie on your iOS device and it’ll be available instantly on your computer, Apple TV or other iOS device. iCloud will also remember exactly where you are in a film, TV show or song and allow you to pick up from there on a different device.

There’s also a brand new interface which Apple says is “simpler and cleaner”. You can click on a category of content and that category will be all you see. You  can also look at an individual album’s track listings while browsing the rest of your music library.

The new iTunes (it hasn’t been given a number this time) will be available for download in October.

I wouldn't hold you're breath. I have it on my iMac - looks exactly the same. No doubt it is still as poor as it always has been. Export ALL playists in one go, and import them in one go. OF course not - that would be useful.

No doubt, more of Apple making it's apps shiney whilst delivering a poor user experience with limited facilities.

Currently preparing to scrub hard disk to reinstall Snow Leopard after Mountain Lion has slowed my well specced iMac to a crawl - made worse by iTunes stuffing all my music files (held on a NAS) onto my hard disk _ not asked for. OF course iTunes regularly resets the library to the local hard disk.

    Still holding your breath?
