Apple drops £38 million for rights to iPad name in China
Apple has had to pay out a hefty £38 million to Proview for the rights to the iPad name in China.
Apple already owned some of the rights to the iPad name, but after iPad units were barred from Chinese shelves, the Cupertino tech giant had no choice but to fork over the cash.
Good news for Chinese Appleites then. iPads are back on shelves in China after one simple transaction, which in the grand scheme of things, is pocket change for Apple.
Now if you'll excuse us, we're off to buy the rights for iToilet. You never know, after all.
