Apple netbook – manufacturing bidding war underway

With Mac sales suffering thanks to this whole economic disaster that seems to be engulfing us, it seems Apple really is intent on rolling out their ow

After plans for an 'iPod Touch pro' were mooted last week, now Commercial Times is reporting that a bidding war is underway to secure manufacturing rights for Apple's ultra portable machine.

Word is that Foxconn Electronics is leading the running. They already make the 13in MacBook, so there's a chance that that aluminium unibody will rear it head again, but in a smaller form.

What do we think? Well, these reports come so thick and fast, it's hard to take them all wholly seriously. But make no mistake, Apple is planning something in the shape of a netbook. How it will look, though, remains to be seen.
