Android tops smartphone wish list

Google’s mobile OS pips Apple iPhone in the popularity stakes

Bar charts and statistics may fill you with dread, but these figures from Nielsen are a pretty handy snapshot of the US smartphone market and the latest results for early 2011 show that nearly a third (31 per cent) of people crave Android goodness in their pockets. RIM and Microsoft were less lucky, but with with BlackBerry’s PlayBook primed for launch and Windows Phone 7 joining forcees with Nokia, who knows what next year’s figures will show. Never have we been so excited by a spreadsheet.
