Even with the help of the ultimate tech buying guide, Stuff.tv’s Top 10s, deciding which gadget to buy next can be tricky. So, to help out, we’ve rounded up all the recent new entries to our lists – here’s the rundown.
Fujifilm Z100fd takes top spot
The big news is that the Fujifilm Z100fd has stolen the number spot from Sony’s T200 in our digital compacts Top 10 – its mix of style and great performance was enough to convince our judges. The T200 stays in the list despite the arrival of its successor, as we think it offers better value and performance than the T300. Canon’s new Ixus 90 has arrived at number seven.
TomTom stays strong
Elsewhere, in our sat-nav Top 10, TomTom’s Go 720 retained its number one position despite strong opposition from its new stablemate, the Go 930, which slots in at number two. We decided that the Go 930’s dubious benefits weren’t worth the extra hike in price, and that its older brother is currently a better deal.
Asus storms in
It’s been all change in the UMPC and plasma lists too. Asus’ new Eee PC 900 has stormed to the top of the former chart, followed closely by the HTC Shift at number four. Philips’ Aurea and Hitachi’s multi-talented P50XR01 also did enough to earn places in the plasma elite.
Two very interesting new PC accessories have shaken up their Top 10. Razer's Mako 2.1 speakers are the best we’ve heard in a long time, fully justifying their arrival at number four, while Zalman’s 3D monitor stunned us by actually being rather good – it’s new at number five.
With Alienware’s m15x – their finest gaming laptop to date – sneaking into the laptops chart, Logitech’s Squeezebox Duet in at number four in Wireless music and Nintendo Wii Fit breathing down Guitar Hero’s neck in the console category, there are plenty of new contenders for your tech wishlist.
