Acer has outed a new generation of its Timeline laptops, with a boosted battery life, improved specs and thinner body.
The TimelineX series picks up where the original Timeline left off, smashing past its predecessors 8-hour battery life to offer 12 hours on the go 9 (with a 9 cell battery).
It runs on the newest Intel Core i7 and i5 processors in place of the ultra low voltage options of previous models, and picks up its energy efficiency from an LED backlit display, low power fans and improved hard drives.
The X series is offered in four 720p screen sizes, 11.6-, 13.3-, 14- and 15.6-inches, plus a choice of dedicated or integrated graphics, HDD between 250-640GB and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.
You'll also get a multi-in-1 card reader, 1.3MP webcam, optional 3G and Bluetooth connectivity, and Dolby Home Theatre v3 for enhanced sound.
All of this is packed into a slim and light design, with a brushed aluminium chassis measuring in at under 1-inch thick, and weighing as little as 1.4kg in the 11.6-inch version.
The TimelineX Series will be on shelves in May, with prices starting from around £599 for the 13.3-inch offering. The 11.6-inch offering will be out later in June.
