Acer launching Chrome OS netbook in mid-2010

Acer has become the first company to announce it is developing a netbook packing Google's forthcoming Chrome OS.Acer chairman JT Wang said the company

Acer chairman JT Wang said the company planned to launch the netbook in the second half of 2010, and had been developing it since the middle of this year.

This is not the first time Acer has side-stepped from Windows – the company was also the first to launch a dual-booting Android and Windows netbook in October.

Wang went on to say that he was confident his company would also be the first to launch a Chrome-based netbook.
