Nike will finally give us Marty McFly's self-tying shoes in 2015

The 2011 edition of Nike's iconic Air Mag kicks were great, but what we really wanted was the self-lacing ones from the movie

Remember in 2011 when Nike gave us the the ultimate nostalgia kicks: Nike Air Mag sneakers. In Back To The Future Part II, they were legendary, footwear designed for the imaginary future designer Tinker Hatfield pictured.

Sadly the 2011 Nike shoes, while inspired by the original film shoes, were missing power laces. Laces that would self-tighten so never again would you trip over a stray footlace ever. Despite that shortcoming, the limited edition sneakers were soon sold in limited amounts via auction-only.

But Hatfield has declared that by 2015, those self-tying shoelaces would be a reality for us and not just Marty McFly.

2015 isn't here soon enough

There is no confirmation on which model of Nike kicks will feature said power laces, but 2015 is pretty much a confirmed date. Are you as excited as we are?

Until the actual shoes appear, you can just do what we're doing: finding the best excuse to rewatch the Back to the Future films.
