If you intend to purchase a Samsung mobile device but feel that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is a little too small for your liking, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might be the perfect gadget for you. And as expected, it'll be announced in September.
According to a recent report by Android Geeks, the mobile device might be unveiled on 3 September, almost exactly a year since it unveiled the Galaxy Note III. Android Geeks claimed that the “insider” source that provided the information is the same person that precisely predicted the Note III’s inauguration. It also mentions that invites for the Samsung Unpacked event will be sent out around mid-August.
Will history repeat itself?
But what's not mentioned is if Samsung will be merely launching the Android phablet and allow pre-orders from that date or if you can walk into a store and purchase the phablet physically.
If we’re going by what happened last year with the Note III, we will have to wait a little longer than the launch date – the Note III was unveiled on 4 September, but didn’t officially go on sale until 25 September last year.
The source also mentioned that it may come as no surprise that Samsung’s picked that particular timeframe to release its Galaxy Note, since Apple’s iPhone 6 is expected sometime in late August or early September, and all Samsung wants to do is steal Apple's thunder.
Rumours surrounding the Galaxy Note 4 hint at added features and functionality. We're expecting a 5.7in, 1440 x 2560 pixel screen, 20.1MP camera, Android KitKat 4.4.3, water repelling features like the Galaxy S5, and a three-sided wraparound display amongst others.
All shall be revealed in September.
