While the new Nexus 7 has been getting some fanfare, a more exciting Google offering might be on the cards in the Nexus 8. Promotional photos on Google's own website have shown a tablet that seems a little larger than the Nexus 7 while not being the massive 10-inches of standard sized larger tablets.
Would the the 8-inch Nexus variant be a good move for Google? Seeing as phablets are currently in, large-and-yet-not-too-large seems to be the way the market is going.
Where's the evidence?
As ArsTechnica pointed out, Google has a track record of using actual devices in shoots and not dummy models. So if the models are using a tablet in a shoot, it is very likely a real, working tablet and not a fake.
The Nexus 10 did not exactly cause much excitement with the iPad grabbing the lion share of that segment, with Android tablets doing much better in the smaller ranges as shown by the reception towards the first Nexus 7.
Real? Fake? Rest assured that we will keep a watch out for this possibly great alternative to the Nexus 7 or Nexus 10.
