The man who reimagined Nintendo
Former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi, who steered Nintendo into becoming a household name in videogaming passed away from pneumonia at 85.
Nintendo started out as a company making traditional Japanese playing cards — hanafuda — but under Yamauchi's direction, the family business went from cards, to board games and eventually video games in the 1970's.
Under his watch, the NES and SNES came to life, along with the Nintendo 64 and classic titles like Donkey Kong. He left behind a legacy that few can match in the videogaming world.
iOS 7 bugs seen in the wild

In case any funny business happens when you update your iOS device, we have pointers on what to do before you update.
Write words you don't know into Google Translate!
- Google's polished up its iOS app, which has now gone past 70 Google Translate-supported languages by adding the following: Bosnian, Cebuano, Hmong, Javanese, Khmer, Lao, Marathi.
- What's more exciting, though is that handwriting is now supported for up to 49 languages. While native English speakers will usually find the keyboard just fine for most things, people using written characters will find being able to finger draw characters a relief.
