Be excited, the Sony Cyber-Shot RX100 III is real
There’s one reason why we all need the new Sony Cyber-shot RX III camera – because our bodies have become too precious to bear the weight of a clunky DSLR.
Okay maybe not, but the Sony Cyber-shot RX III camera, crafted in aluminium, gives you good quality for a fraction of the weight of some DSLRs. Definitely for photographers who want both serious imaging and extreme portability.
The latest addition to the Cyber-shot camera family features an upgraded lens and faster image processor (by three times) as compared to its predecessors. In addition to a retractable OLED Tru-Finder with ZEISS T coating, the third RX100 comes with enhanced movie features and a 180-degree tilting LCD screen.
It’s got some pretty impressive features too, and we’re not just talking about its fast shutter speeds that freeze fast-moving subjects, Charmed style.

Besides its 20.1MP 1.0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor and Intelligent Active Mode that minimises the effects of camera shake, the Sony Cyber-Shot RX III camera also boasts a newly-added 4K still image output, which allows photo viewing on 4K TVs.
To sweeten the deal, Sony’s also introduced a range of free and paid-for PlayMemories Camera Apps that lets you improve your photography quality with effects, filters, utilities and more. But you have to hang on to your horses for a few days more. The Cyber-shot RX100 III will be available in Asia-Pacific from June, and pricing hasn't been announced yet. Judging from its predecessor's S$999 (RM2,577) launch price, you can expect it to hover around that range.
