Lumia Cyan will be making its way into Nokia Windows Phones in the coming weeks

So far, it’s "under testing" for Malaysia

If you’ve got a Windows Phone 8, you might want to read on – Nokia’s just released its Lumia Cyan update, which includes Windows Phone 8.1 that you may have been eagerly waiting for.

That means you no longer have to perform a grueling task of signing up for a developer preview to get your hands, or rather, Nokia phones, on the Lumia Cyan update. And signing up was a big deal because you would have lost your user warranty and not get any of the additional features from Nokia.

For those of you who’ve been out of the loop on what Lumia Cyan is, it’s basically a combination of the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update, along with some other features unique to the Lumia. These include the Action Center and WordFlow keyboard features. Cortana, Microsoft's virtual assistant is only available in the U.S. for now.

What more?

In addition, it features several improvements to the Lumia devices, like the ability for you to install apps on to your microSD card and manage your accessories on the Nokia Device Hub. It also amps up the Lumia imaging experience with an enhanced camera, renewed camera roll, and a new 'Living Images' feature amongst others.

You will get an automatic notification when the update is available, but if you’re a "kan cheong spider", you can check the update status of any particular smartphone on the Nokia Website.

Nokia expects the update to be available over-the-air for the full Windows Phone 8 Lumia range in the coming weeks. As for Malaysia, Lumia Cyan is stated as "under testing" (at the time of publication) for all the Lumia devices.
