The already tiny sensor has been slimmed down to a 3.5mm-thick bar that's activated with a simultaneous press of CTRL and space.</p> <p>The screen itself is a 1920 x 1080 IPS affair (available in touch and non-touch configurations), and the laptop can be specced with up to 2TB of hard drive space, 16GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor. Leap Motion's app store, called Airspace, comes pre-installed along with a handful of Leap Motion games and apps.</p> <p>All that sci-fi hand-waving takes its toll on the battery – HP has already said that it's best used when plugged in for exactly this reason.</p> <p>It's certainly a neater way of adding motion sensing to your laptop than attaching the separate sensor via USB, but if you do want to go that route you can buy one separately.</p> <p>For a closer look at motion control, take a look at our <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/video-review-leap-motion-exciting-glimpse-hands-free-future/video">Leap Motion video review</a>.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1440" height="448" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/Shot_2_hero.jpg?1379693032" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-carousel-item"><legend>Carousel Extras</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-text field-field-carousel-item-title"> <div class="field-label">Carousel item title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> HP Envy 17 Leap Motion SE revealed </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> http://www.stuff.tv/my/hp/hp-envy-17-leap-motion-se-worlds-first-laptop-built-motion-control/news#comments HP Leap Motion Fri, 20 Sep 2013 02:46:05 +0000 Nigel Yap 1426879 at http://www.stuff.tv Video review: Leap Motion – an exciting glimpse into a touch-free future http://www.stuff.tv/my/leap-motion/video-review-leap-motion-exciting-glimpse-touch-free-future/video <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Leap Motion has the potential to transform the way we interact with our devices – but is this gesture-controlled box of tricks as revolutionary as we&#039;d hoped? </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Video review: Leap Motion – an exciting glimpse into a hands-free future" alt="Video review: Leap Motion – an exciting glimpse into a hands-free future" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/Screen%20shot%202013-09-09%20at%2020.55.05.png?1378953996" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="video-wrapper brightcove-player-wrapper"> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="http://admin.brightcove.com/js/BrightcoveExperiences.js"></script> <script src="http://admin.brightcove.com/js/APIModules_all.js"></script> <div class="brightcove-player"> <object id="myExperience-2659882498001" class="BrightcoveExperience"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> <param name="playerID" value="" /> <param name="playerKey" value="AQ~~,AAAAEgPmGlk~,Fzd-TvXcznw-P3piHaryQBMeIzWITldz" /> <param name="isVid" value="true" /> <param name="isUI" value="true" /> <param name="dynamicStreaming" value="true" /> <param name="@videoPlayer" value="2659882498001" /> <param name="autoStart" value="" /> <param name="htmlFallback" value="true" /> <param name="includeAPI" value="true" /> <param name="templateLoadHandler" value="brightcoveTemplateLoaded" /> <param name="width" value="640px" /> <param name="height" value="360px" /> </object> <!-- This script tag will cause the Brightcove Players defined above it to be created as soon as the line is read by the browser.
