Spyshots of a Huawei smartphone with fingerprint sensor emerge

Will we see this China-made mobile device arrive in Malaysia?

Apparently, Huawei’s been sending out invites for its 4 September pre-IFA event in Berlin, featuring a fingerprint on them. Not a very subtle hint at a feature we can expect to see from its upcoming handset/handsets.

And now, pictures from China have surfaced to further support this – it shows the back of one (if it’s the only) Huawei smartphone boasting a fingerprint sensor, camera, and flash cutout.

This of course, comes as no shocker to us. Why? Because besides the quite obvious hint on Huawei’s invite, a previous leak has shown the back plate of a smartphone, looking very similar to what is featured on these images.

However, these snaps show the device enclosed in a protective case, meaning we can’t decipher much else about its looks or physical features – besides the fact that if unveiled, it will come in a white option.

It may not be a big reveal

Sources initially claimed that the soon to be launched device will be part of a flagship offering but now say that the leak we're looking at here is nothing more than a mid-range device, perhaps an Ascend G7 mobile phone if history repeats itself?

The G6 was modelled after the looks of its higher-end Ascend P6, so we think the G7, if this is what it’s launching, will be the successor to the P7. These sources indicate that the device that will be unveiled might sport a 720p touchscreen, 1.6 GHz CPU, 16GB of built-in storage, as well as 1GB of RAM.

But speculation of the device aside, the bigger question is, with the China smartphone boom picking up pace globally, will we see the unit announced early next month roll out in Malaysia? We’ll just have to wait and see.
