Google gears up for Malaysia day with Doodle 4 Google contest

Malaysia's first Doodle 4 Google contest is open for votes

Enlisting the artistic capabilities of Malaysian youth from across the country, the Doodle 4 Google competition that was kicked off earlier in April this year has reached its final voting phase.

You have the power to decide which Google Doodle will grace the search giant's landing page on Malaysia Day on 16 September.

20 doodles were shortlisted with five doodles in four age categories: 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-17 with the theme ‘Malaysia to me is...’ in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

Google does hundreds of doodles a year ranging from international anniversaries and holidays to the birthdays of several noted artists and scientists including Malaysia’s own Yasmin Ahmad, and international personalities that include Andy Warhol, Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Louis Braille, Percival Lowell and Edvard Munch.

The voting period closes on 30 August and on 8 September, the winners for each category and the overall winner will be announced.
