Rumour: specs for next two Nintendo consoles leaked
The Wii U has proved a flop with consumers, but Nintendo isn’t in dire straits financially. The company has billions of pounds in the bank, and if rumours are to be believed it’s using some of those to develop not one but two new consoles – one handheld and one for the home.
The “Fusion DS” will be another dual-screen handheld, says the rumour. It’ll have two 5.1in 960 x 640 touchscreens, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, two haptic-equipped circular control pads and 16GB of internal storage.
Then there’s the “Fusion Terminal”, powered by an 8-core custom IBM processor and supporting 1080p and 4K video output. It’ll be able to charge up to four Fusion DS units or motion controllers wirelessly. There’ll be 60GB and 300GB versions, and support for Wii U discs, 3DS cards and new Nintendo optical disc format called HVD.
Even Gaminrealm, the site that reported this rumour, urges its readers to take the story with “a grain of salt” and we would suggest you do the same. After all, the Wii U has only been on sale for just over a year. Still, interesting stuff.

The most downloaded torrent of 2013? It’ll surprise you
If you were asked what the most downloaded torrent file of last year was, you’d probably go for an obvious answer: the “Red Wedding” episode of Game of Thrones perhaps, or a movie like The Hobbit: There and Back Again. But it isn’t either of those – in fact, it’s not even an illegal file, despite torrenting’s reputation for encouraging copyright theft.
It transpires that it’s a collection of free and legal collection of tracks by electronic music veteran Moby. Launched through BitTorrent Bundle, the client’s musical storefront, the bundle was downloaded 8.9 million times.
