The Walking Dead graphic novel
The Walking Dead
Zombies are the least of your worries when you are facing down the barrel of a gun.
Robert Kirkman, creator of the critically acclaimed The Walking Dead graphic novel, portrays a world where the law of the (concrete) jungle is amplified. It’s not so much the zombies, but the human drama and psychological trauma that put you on the edge of your seat. World War Z
Nothing prepares you for the end of days better than a fictional account of the devastating effects of the zombie apocalypse.
Max Brooks paints quite a real and gritty picture of a world ravaged by the war against the unrelenting zombies in World War Z. Every single page pulls you further in, imagining the early days when humans were hopelessly outnumbered by the horde of flesh-eaters, to humanity’s eventual triumph against the viral outbreak.
Watch AMC’s The Walking Dead and you'll know how it'll be when the world goes to hell.
Now in its sixth season, the crew led by Rick Grimes have been tested to the most extreme situations. Without revealing too much spoilers, just be aware that it's really a heart-wrenching show that'll question what you know about the meaning of humanity.
Then, there's Fear The Walking Dead. Rather than throwing you into the deep end of the zombie pool, the spin-off is a prequel of the apocalyptic world that is seen in The Walking Dead, and focuses on the changing behaviour and relationships in the family. You could learn a thing or two from watching this family drama (well, sort of) set in the zombiefied world.

If that's what you're looking for, cross your fingers that the zombie apocalypse won't descend till the Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse releases in theatres soon.
