Every year, the South East Asia Major gaming tournament features a massive variety of heavy hitting pro-gamers from all over the globe. From Dubai, the Philippines, Australia to Japan, gamers flew to Singapore to battle it out.

Notable players such as RZR|Xian, MCZ|Tokido, RZR|Fuudo, AvM|GamerBee, EG|Momochi, Kazunoko, Mike Ross, Bonchan, RZR|Gackt, Leslie and many others were on the attendance list.

Everyone was geared up and buzzing on copious amounts of Red Bull throughout the three day event. Players battled in front of an unblinking audience for the top spot in Ultra Street Fighter 4, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, The King of Fighters XIII, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma.

For those who were unable to attend, everything was streamed on Twitch so nobody missed a second of the combo-filled fighting action. And if you’ve missed the live streaming of the monumental event that took place over last weekend, fret not. We’ve captured the excitement and highlights of the match in photos.

The champions

After hours of countless hadoukens, reversals and technicals, these gamers landed first place in their fighting game categories.

  • Ultra Street Fighter 4: EG|Momochi playing as Ken
  • BlazBlue: Chronophantasma: Blickwinkel playing as Kokonoe
  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Book playing as Heihachi and Jin
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Eita playing as Nova, Dr. Doom and Vergil
  • King of Fighters 13: MCZ|Tokido playing as EX lori, Chin and Mr. Karate

Tournaments like these are amazing platforms for pro-gamers and up and coming prodigies across South East Asia. Heads up though, Zih from Madcatz who sponsored the fight sticks for the event says the only thing they need now are sponsors from deodorant brands. GG!
