Nike&rsquo;s Tinker Hatfield, who designed the original power-lacing sneakers from the 1989 movie, told a crowd at the Agenda Emerge conference this week that his team is working to have the real shoes out before the end of the year.</p> <p class="p1">Savvy sneaker fans will remember that Nike issued 1500 pairs of non-powered MAG shoes (pictured) back in 2011 to raise money for film series star Michael J. Fox&rsquo;s Parkinson&rsquo;s Research foundation, but these will apparently be the real deal, with a button that automatically secures the laces to the shoe. Last February, <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/nikes-power-laces-coming-2015-just-time-marty-mcfly/news">Hatfield noted plans</a> for the power laces, but nearly a year has passed without an official announcement.</p> <p class="p1">Luckily, there&rsquo;s <a href="http://www.nicekicks.com/2015/01/07/nike-mag-2015-power-laces-us-patent-papers/">a patent for the tech</a>, filed by Nike and its most notable designers in 2013 (and awarded last year), that details exactly how it&rsquo;ll all work. Whether they get it done in time to make the movie-inspired deadline remains to be seen, but whatever the case: real, working Nike MAGs are on the horizon. But for creators who just secured serious bank but aren&rsquo;t yet ready to go it alone, this is an interesting new option to consider.</p> <p class="p1">[Source: <a href="https://go.indiegogo.com/blog/2015/01/introducing-indemand.html">Indiegogo</a>]</p> <p class="p1"><strong>READ MORE: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/nano-drones-coding-kids-and-cocktail-maker-ten-kickstarter-and-indiegogo-must-haves-december-2014/feature">Nano drones, coding for kids and a cocktail maker: Ten Kickstarter and Indiegogo must-haves for January 2015</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="491" title="Indiegogo&#039;s InDemand" alt="Indiegogo&#039;s InDemand" src="/sites/stuff.tv/files/indiegogo-indemand.jpg" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> http://www.stuff.tv/my/blackberry/fully-charged-nike-s-power-laced-marty-mcfly-shoes-might-still-release-2015-att-gets-blac#comments BlackBerry Crowdfunding Film and TV Netflix Nike Passport Thu, 08 Jan 2015 07:30:00 +0000 Hafizah Osman 1457095 at http://www.stuff.tv Slimmer, lighter, sexier 3Doodler 2.0 revealed at CES 2015 http://www.stuff.tv/my/ces-2015/slimmer-lighter-sexier-3doodler-20-revealed-ces/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> If you don&#039;t want your original 3Doodler to have body image issues, cover its eyes immediately </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-enable-hero"> <div class="field-label">Enable hero:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Enable full width image </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Slimmer, lighter, sexier 3Doodler 2.0 revealed at CES" alt="Slimmer, lighter, sexier 3Doodler 2.0 revealed at CES" src="/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/3doodler-main.jpg" /> </div> </div> </div> <p>The <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/3doodler/review" target="_blank">3Doodler</a> won our hearts back in 2013 when it picked up Stuff&#39;s Kickstart of the Year award after earning a well-deserved five stars in its review. There&#39;s the 64-bit Intel quad-core processor, 32GB of flash storage (expandable with a microSD slot), 2GB of RAM and a 2048 x 1536 pixel 7.85in display.</p> <p>How big is it? All this is made possible via a CO2 cartridge attached to the growler, helping to keep the beer fresh for up to 4 weeks.</p> <p>It&#39;s pretty obvious that a perfect beer growler would be in demand seeing how the Kickstarter is already oversubscribed, going past its US$75,000 goal to sail past US$300,000. What&#39;s even more impressive is that the campaign has 45 more days to go.</p> <p>To <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/growlerwerks/the-ukegtm-pressurized-growler-for-fresh-beer" target="_blank">get a uKeg of your own</a>, pay US$99 (RM324) and another US$30 (RM98.40) for shipping outside the US.</p> <p><strong>READ MORE</strong>: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/hot-stuff">Other stuff you might want to throw your money at</a></p> <p>[Source: <a href="http://www.psfk.com/2014/10/ukeg-beer-carbonation-freshness.html" target="_blank">PSFK</a>]</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="video-wrapper youtube-player-wrapper"> <iframe width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yJEQ6C6xiFI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> http://www.stuff.tv/my/ukeg-keeps-your-microbrew-fresh-and-cold-every-time/news#comments Crowdfunding Fri, 24 Oct 2014 03:45:51 +0000 Erna Mahyuni 1451231 at http://www.stuff.tv This easy-to-use carving machine will make you forget all about 3D printing http://www.stuff.tv/my/easy-use-carving-machine-will-make-you-forget-all-about-3d-printing/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Meet Carvey: a sleek black box which opens up a whole world of homemade possibilities </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-enable-hero"> <div class="field-label">Enable hero:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Enable full width image </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1090" height="817" title="Darth Vader&#039;s coffee machine" alt="This easy-to-use carving machine will make you forget all about 3D printing" src="/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/unnamed-3.jpg" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-byline"> <div class="field-label">Byline:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/my/users/esat-dedezade" title="View user profile.">Esat Dedezade</a> </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>News Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p><strong>That&#39;s a rather sinister-looking coffee machine.
