It’s akin to having a personal trainer – or your mum – nagging you for spending all day in front of Soccer Saturday instead of going for a run.</p> <p>And these aren’t limited to your physical movements. As before, the Up system tracks not only activity but your sleep patterns (it can differentiate between light and deep sleep) and diet (you can scan in food barcodes, or search for what you’ve eaten in the app’s nutritional database). With sleep, the app can now wake you up during a period of lighter slumber, which means you’ll feel more refreshed and less disorientated than if it set off an alarm during a deep sleep session.</p> <p>It also works with IFTTT, meaning the band can, for instance, tell your coffee machine to turn on while it’s waking you up from that light sleep.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Jawbone Up24 band" alt="Jawbone Up24 band" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/jawbone-up24-band.jpg?1384386987" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Jawbone Up app" alt="Jawbone Up app" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/jawbone-up-app.jpg?1384386987" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-1"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Malaysia release date: TBC </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The new app will also work with the iOS- and Android-compatible original Up band, but because these need to physically connect and sync with your phone you won’t get the all-important real-time nagging.&nbsp;</p> <p>A Malaysia release date and price for the Up24 is yet to be confirmed. It’s also made of a single piece of extruded aluminium, which is a step up from its predominantly plastic predecessors. The built-in battery delivers up to 10 hours of music playback per charge, and as well as play music via Bluetooth it works as a hands-free speakerphone. No, the company went H.A.M. on product launches during its press conference, and among the various items unveiled was a new 6in Reader model (the PRS-T3 if you want to know its full name). This one comes with an integrated snap-closed cover that makes it resemble, well, a book, as well as Wi-Fi, a quick-charge mode that gives it enough battery power for a 600-page novel in three minutes, and enough internal memory for 1,200 ebooks.
